CaOS System

Name: CaOS System
Diagram No.: 1164
Type of diagram: TTP
Chemical composition in weight %: No data
Group: Slags
Note: CaOS system TPP diagram.(Po2=1015Pa, The broken line means the equilibrium line between titanium oxides and sulfides.
Figure 1 shows the TPP (temperature-partial-pressure, or phase stability) diagram of CaOS system) when the activities of CaS and CaO are unity or almost the same and the oxygen partial pressure PO2 equals to 1015Pa (9.8691021atm). CaSO4 is stable below 584C, the equilibrium partial pressure of SO2 changes from 0.026 (logPSO2=1.59Pa at 584C) to 3.981017 (logPSO2= 16.4 at 300C). On the other hand, CaS is stable more than 584C, when the equilibrium partial pressure of SO2 decreases from 0.026 (logPSO2=1.59Pa at 584C) to 3.981011 (logPSO2=10.4Pa at 1 000C).
Figure 2 shows the TPP diagram of TiOS system at PO2=1015Pa.4).
