Note: Treatment: Both PM and CE materials were given identical heat treatmente, which consisted of a partial gamma prime solution treatment at temperaturee 20C (68F) below the gamma prime aolvus for 2 h, followed by cooling in air, a carbide-etabilising heat treatment at 980C (1796 F) for 8 h, followed by an air cool, and a gamma prime precipitation cycle of 760C (1400 F) for 8 h. To observe the formation of sigma phase the heat-treated specimens were exposed to temperatures from 708 to 980C (1300 to 1800 F) for various times in argon.
