Beta Plutonium

Alloy name: Beta Plutonium
Diagram No.: 336
Type of diagram: TTT
Chemical composition in weight %: Pure plutonium (600-1000 ppm total impurities)
Alloy group: Plutonium-based alloys
Note: Treatment: Isothermal reaction curves of the beta to alpha transformation were obtained by solution heat treating at 175 C (347F) for 1 h, quenching to temperatures between -80 and +90C (-112 and 194 F), holding isothermally until there was no further apparent transformation, then quickly taking the sample from the high temperature bath and quenching into the low temperature bath.
