Al - 0.9% Mn - 0.85% Fe - 0.04% Si Alloy

Alloy name: Al - 0.9% Mn - 0.85% Fe - 0.04% Si
Diagram No.: 7
Type of diagram: TTP
Chemical composition in weight %: 0.9% Mn, 0.85% Fe, 0.04% Si, balance is Al
Alloy group: Aluminum-based alloys
Note: A commercially strip-cast AlMn alloy exhibiting a uniform primary particle structure with a secondary dendrite spacing similar to that reported by Merits and Ostermann. Heat treatment: Material annealed at 670C (1058 F) for 4 h, then cooled to 520 C (968 F) at a rate of about 100C (212 F)/h and kept at this temperature for 17 h. This gave a reduction in resistivity of about 91% or a manganese concentration in rolution of about 0.4%. The material was then reduced 85% at room temperature, and recrystallized at different temperatures and times.
