41.7% Si02- 37.9% Ca0 - 20.4% Al203

Name: 41.7% Si02- 37.9% Ca0 - 20.4% Al203
Diagram No.: 964
Type of diagram: TTT
Chemical composition in weight %: 41.7% Si02, 37.9% Ca0, 20.4% Al203
Group: Slags
Note: Crystallization behaviour for the composition 41.7% Si02- 37.9% Ca0 - 20.4% Al203, (a), and evaluation, as a function of temperature, of the volume free energy change for the formation of the various solids from the sursaturated liquid (b).
For other compositions, several crystalline phases may appear. The TTT diagram for such a composition, located near aeutectic point, is shownin Fig. It consists of a "multinose curve", as the nature of the first crystals to appear depends on holding temperature: anorthite at a temperature higher than 1250 C, pseudowollastonite between 1100 and 1250 C, and gehlenite below 1100 C.
For someareas of the temperature-time domain, several crystalline phases coexist.
