Steel BRU (Mat.No. 11.3207, DIN S10-4-3-10, AISI T42)

Material: Steel BRU
Chemical composition in weight %:  1.28% C, 0.45% Si, 0.40% Mn, 41.5% Cr, 3.55% Mo, 3.25% V, 9.50% W, 10.00% Co.
Electrolyte: 10 % HCl + 10 % KCl + 2.5% Na-citrate (for 3.6 kg of electrolyte: 360 g KCl, 90 g Na-citrate, 310.5 g HCl, 2790 g distilled H2O).
Anode: Sample.
Cathode:  Grid from Pt.
Reference electrode: Calomel.
Experimental conditions: U(start)=-410 mV, U=-200 mV (potenciometer), I7.30=320 mA, I9.00=460 mA, I12.30=310 mA.
Time: 5.0 hours.
Results: Sample weight before dissolution: 15.284 g, sample weight after dissolution: 12.908 g, difference: 2.376 g, weight of extraction residues: 0.457 g.
Phases in steel: In steel: 18.2% of carbides.
Note:  XRD sample preparation, electrolytic phase extraction. Sample is quenched from 1240 C.
